He won gold in road race cycling on November 22, 2010. Earlier he also won silver medal in Men's point race.

He joined the Hong Kong national team at age 17 in 1990 but left the team in 1992 and thus missed the 1990 Barcelona Olympics due to conflicts with the cycling association. However in 1994, he was persuaded to come out from his "retirement" by a visiting former coach of China's team. In the same year, he was sent to Hiroshima, Japan to participate in Asian Games and and was placed fourth , a best feat ever achieved by Hong Kong. Since then he has won numerous national and regional titles and gold medal in the Asian Games in 1998, 2006 and a bronze in 2002. He also won Hong Kong Sports Stars Award in 1998, 1999, 2001, 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007
