He grew up in a village in Anhui province and was brought up in hardship by his mother when his father died when he was 8. His mother worked on rice fields and rear livestocks to bring up he and his two siblings, an elder brother and an elder sister who are now already married. Now he lives alone in big city and would return to his village whenever he wanted some peace. He is a filial son who says his future wife must be able to get along and listen to his mother before they could get married.
